The Mālama ʻĀina Field School at Nānākuli is a place-based and project-based summer school program for students at Nanakuli High & Intermediate School, integrating the subjects of science, math, English, social studies, and art while nurturing a love for the land and sea where the students live. In this segment, we see how the students of the summer program have grown in just five weeks to become the future leaders of their beloved community and environment. The Mālama ʻĀina Field School is supported in large part by grants from Kamehameha Schools and the Marisla Foundation. This video was produced by Outside Hawai'i for Mālama Learning Center, 2015.
