My alumni visits to WTSC in 1968 and 1972(?) as captured on S-8mm (silent) movie film. This edited and DIY Processed footage is posted to solicit help in determining the exact year of the second segment - currently labeled "1972". The added mono audio track contains the station sign-on and some ID's from the early period.

WTSC-FM, 91.1 is owned by Clarkson College (now University) in Potsdam, N.Y. and has always been operated and maintained by students. It went on the air on November 3, 1963 using much of the custom-built studio equipment shown in both segments. At that time it was the lowest powered FM station in the US at 2.5 watts. A donated, mono transmitter was used. Several years later the station was upgraded to 700 watts - with stereo. Happy 50th birthday WTSC!

TECHNICAL NOTES: S-8mm telecine & processing was done using the original DIY system - that is currently described in vimeo.com/4930152. The original 2008 Standard Definition transfer version was DivX PRO encoded in two passes for Vimeo upload. The current version was quickly created by downloading the original Vimeo Flash file, editing it and re-uploading using H.264. If time permits, the film footage will be rescanned with the newer High Definition transfer system.
