Mama Riziki had been living in Kansas City for a few months when she showed up for Sunday morning worship at Central UMC. A natural evangelist, she began inviting people, most of them recent immigrants, to worship. It wasn’t long before Riziki and her friend Solomon started a choir. The primarily Anglo church began providing a Swahili insert. Central now has approximately 50-60 African worshippers including many children. Slowly, through the work of building relationship, they are beginning to kuomba pamoja or worship together. Learn more at SayYesToMinistry.org.
