A short documentary about Molecular and Cellular Life Sciences, a rapidly developing discipline in modern life sciences at the crossroads of chemical, biological, physical and computational sciences focusing on the molecular understanding of cellular function.
In this field, Utrecht University has gained an outstanding scientific reputation for advanced structural analysis of biomolecules in the context of cellular systems. Research groups from the faculties of Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Physics, Medicine and Veterinary Medicine are involved in this interdisciplinary programme. Our programme is directly linked to the PhD-programmes of the Bijvoet Center for Biomolecular Research and the Institute of Biomembranes.
The master's programme in Biomolecular Sciences is organized at the crossroads of chemical, biological, physical and computational sciences. The programme is research-oriented with an interest in both fundamental and application-driven research. Students are trained in state-of-the-art techniques ranging from advanced methodologies in structural biology (X-ray, NMR, modelling), genetics (genomics) and cell biology (microscopy, proteomics).
