In this fourth week of this series, Dr. Don G. Pickney builds on the concept of what scripture reveals it is going to be like in the earth, and in the body of Christ, between now and the rapture (catching away to Heaven) of the Church.
Following a road map of connective scripture, beginning with Isaiah 2:12 he identifies this “last days” period (now to the rapture), a period in which God reconciles a great injustice in the earth as he removes “haughtiness” from modern society, and manifests an humble and righteous seed to be lifted up in power and influence with the glory of God upon them.
In this teaching Pastor Don takes us to Psalm 75:2-10 where we find a “cup of mixture,” as out of the same cup comes both a pulling down of the proud and haughty and a lifting up of the righteous ones, the wicked getting the dregs while the righteous drinking the blessing thereof:
Psalms 75:2-10 JPS “When I take the appointed time, I Myself will judge with equity. (3) When the earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved, I Myself establish the pillars of it.' Selah (4) I say unto the arrogant: 'Deal not arrogantly'; and to the wicked: 'Lift not up the horn.' (5) Lift not up your horn on high; speak not insolence with a haughty neck. (6) For neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the wilderness, cometh lifting up. (7) For God is judge; He puts down one, and lifts up another. (8) For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, with foaming wine, full of mixture, and He pours out of the same; surely the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall drain them, and drink them. (9) But as for me, I will declare forever, I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. (10) All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up.”
He shows that as this “appointed time,” continues to unfold, the Day of Jehovah Tsaba is fully manifested as God gives to the Church the two-fold blessing promised in Isaiah 61, “…for you shame you shall receive double.” Isaiah chapters 60 and 61 reveal that double blessing: The glory of the Lord comes upon the church as spiritual blessings manifest as in the “early church” period, as simultaneously the glory of the world (earth’s rich resources) which was taken from the believers at the beginning of the church is restored to them in a great wealth conversion. Paul wrote about the loss of the Church’s goods in the beginning like this:
Hebrews 10:32-34 KJV “But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions; (33) Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used. (34) For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.”
Now, God is planning a restoration for a period in which both the glory (of God) comes upon and the glory (of the world) comes to us – keeping in mind that the glory of the world is not evil – rather it is in reality the created glory of God, the rich resources he created in the earth at the beginning of creation.
The ancient Biblical prophet called it a reconciliation that would be the “joy of many generations.” For centuries God’s people in the Church, along with countless in the Jewish community before in millenniums past have given to God with expectancy of a promised return. Obeying God reverently with the tithe of all their income, yet not seeing the promised return of “the Lord of hosts” Jehovah Tsaba, in Malachi:
“Malachi 3:10-12 “Bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of your income) into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now by it, says the Lord of hosts (Jehovah Tsaba), if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. [Mal. 2:2.] (11) And I will rebuke the devourer [insects and plagues] for your sakes and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground, neither shall your vine drop its fruit before the time in the field, says the Lord of hosts (Jehovah Tsaba). (12) And all nations shall call you happy and blessed, for you shall be a land of delight, says the Lord of hosts (Jehovah Tsaba).”
Pastor Don declares that there is a special reason why this promise was given not just in the name of the Lord God, but in the great Name of Jehovah Tsaba (Lord of hosts). God’s promises are not just backed by God’s faithfulness to those who appropriate them using their faith, but his faithfulness is eternal as He never forgets to fulfill all His promises.
Hebrews 4:1-2 LITV “Therefore, let us fear lest perhaps a promise having been left to enter into His rest, that any of you may seem to come short. (2) For, indeed, we have had the gospel preached to us, even as they also; but the Word did not profit those hearing it, not having been mixed with faith in the ones who heard.”
It think if I had been preaching this message of Paul, I might have reversed the above two verses like this:
Hebrews 4:1-2 LITV (2) For, indeed, we have had the gospel preached to us, even as they also; but the Word did not profit those hearing it, not having been mixed with faith in the ones who heard. (1) Therefore, let us fear lest perhaps a promise having been left… any of you may seem to come short.” (a portion of verse one temporarily removed to show emphasis)
You see, although multitudes of the faithful have respectively given their tithe, almost no period in Judaism or during the Church age, has there been the manifestation of fulfillment of this great “tithe” promise. Why? Is it because God is unfaithful to do what He promised? Of course not! When God gave this great promise, although He has seen little faith from those intended to receive it, and although the fullness of it was never consistently seen down through the ages, still Jesus promised that “not one jot or tittle would fail until all is fulfilled.” Looking at the historical record what we see then is the weakness of our faith in this area revealing, as revealed in Hebrews 4:1-2, the reason why we (and all of the past) have not seen the greater manifestation of it. BUT GOD SLIPPED IN A WONDERFUL PLAN WHEN HE GAVE THE PERSONAL PROMISE OF MALACHI! HE ALSO MADE IT A PROPHETIC PROMISE AS WELL!! You see, although on a personal level, almost no one was able to appropriate the faith to receive such great “mind-blowing” promise, still by God’s also including it in a future prophetic event, He would be able to pour out all of its unfulfilled portion (all stored up in Heaven not yet poured out in blessing) upon a future generation during a future event. THIS WOULD BE GOD’S WAY OF GETTING IT INTO THE EARTH A TIME WHEN HE WOULD NEED IT TO SUPPLY THE GREAT END-TIME HARVEST!
Here is where we see the fulfillment:
Isaiah 23:9, 18 KJV “The LORD of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, and to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth. (18) And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.” (The Amplified Bible reads, “for her gain will be used for those who dwell in the presence of the Lord [the ministers], that they may eat sufficiently and have durable and stately clothing [suitable for those who minister at God's altar].”
You see, through God’s plan to include a manifestation of any unfulfilled faith appropriated in Malachi’s personal promise, by including it in the prophecy detailed later in the chapter, God would be able to enlist the blessing at a later promised event:
Malachi 3:16-18 GNB “Then the people who feared the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD listened and heard what they said. In his presence, there was written down in a book a record of those who feared the LORD and respected him. (17) "They will be my people," says the LORD Almighty (Jehovah Tsaba). "On the day when I act, they will be my very own. I will be merciful to them as parents are merciful to the children who serve them. (18) Once again my people will see the difference between what happens to the righteous and to the wicked, to the person who serves me and the one who does not."
Praise God! While God’s people have fallen far short of the personal promise of Malachi, the prophetic promise will surely come to pass. And WE ARE THE GENERATION DESTINED TO SEE ITS FULFULLMENT! While some in Malachi 3, threw away their faith and spoke against God’s ordinance of the tithe (much like some in Christianity have done as well by forsaking the tithe), yet many were faithful to believe to the best of their ability in God’s promise (just as many in the Church today have done). As they were faithful, large blessings were “stored up” and “stored up” and “stored up” until now there is a great deposit of blessing available, although not reaching the promised recipients because of their lack of faith, yet now, IN THIS GENERATION, they will see it go towards the great harvest of souls as the Day of Jehovah Tsaba finds its eventual climactic fulfillment before the rapture of the Church.
Isaiah 60:15-16 LITV “…I will make you for everlasting majesty, a joy of many generations. (16) You shall also suck the milk of nations, and you shall suck the breast of kings. And you shall know that I, Jehovah, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.”
It is this great scriptural passage of which John Wesley, the found of the Methodist Church spoke in his famous commentary:
“That the church shall draw, or receive the wealth of nations, and the riches, and power of kings, and whatever is most excellent, and that it shall come freely, and affectionately, as milk flows from the breast of the mother.” – John Wesley’s Explanatory Notes of the Entire Bible
You see, Wesley saw the revelation of this also as he realized that a promised fulfillment for many generations of the faithful would come in one generation, during the great event spoken of by Isaiah, Haggai, Zechariah and the Apostle James, that event being the Day of Jehovah Tsaba (Lord of hosts).
In this teaching Pastor Don is declaring the true sign and symptoms we may expect during the fulfillment of this great event at this time.
