2016 was a great year for women's suffrage movement centennial events and observances. Canada observed its suffrage centennial. And the centennial observance of the death of Inez Milholland, America's suffrage martyr, reached out for partners and supporters to honor Milholland. Voting rights and how they were won was of particular interest during the election year of 2016. Many people asked how women won the right to vote, how long it took, and the long and difficult struggle from 1848 tom1920, the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The Inez Milholland centennial observance worked with the National Women's History Project to spread the word.
