FoundSpace is at the crossroads of art and conservation. The inaugural project in August 2015 took place in Karns Meadow and featured an interactive art installation created by the Exquisite Gardeners, local artists and community members. The Jackson Hole Land Trust, in partnership with the Center of Wonder, Jackson Hole Public Art, and the Cultural Council of Jackson Hole, invited the public to participate in the FoundSpace process, including attending gathers on Land Trust conservation easement protected properties to collect found objects, writing poetry on large letters in Karns Meadow, building or adding to a sculpture made of found objects at the installation, and celebrating a communal love for art and land at the closing party. This video by JenTen Productions captures the spirit of FoundSpace and the Land Trust’s mission to connect every member of the community with land.
