This video intro gives an insight into two award-winning Caribbean/North American authors, Caryl Phillips and Robert Antoni, and their newest books.
The authors visited England in October 2015 to give readings at festivals and venues.
Caryl Phillips’s novel, The Lost Child, is a story of orphans and outcasts influenced by Wuthering Heights. Shortlisted for the Booker Prize for his book Crossing The River, he was born in St Kitts, grew up in Leeds, and presently teaches at Yale University.
Equal parts Trinidadian, Bahamian, and US citizen, Robert Antoni is the author of five books and is a recipient of the prestigious OCM Bocas Prize for his latest book, As Flies To Whatless Boys. The book draws from Antoni's two hundred years of family history and offers a richly comic historical narrative, with adventure. He lives in New York and teaches at The New School.
