Dr. Janice E. Brunstrom-Hernandez MD is a board certified pediatric neurologist and founder of 1 CP Place in Plano, TX. Her mission is to help children (0-22) with cerebral palsy to live their very best lives, now and in the future. “Dr. Jan” as her patients call her, earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Pacific Lutheran University in 1983, and her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University. In 1998 she founded the Pediatric Neurology Cerebral Palsy Center at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine which has treated more than 2,000 patients. Dr. Brunstrom- Hernandez has also established several adaptive sports programs for her patients and is also a founder of Carol and Paul Hatfield Cerebral Palsy Sports Rehabilitation Program at SLCH. While there are many doctors that can treat patients with cerebral palsy, Dr. Brunstrom- Hernandez is able to relate more to the issues and hardships that face someone with cerebral palsy as she has cerebral palsy.
