The Buddha hall project at Avatamsaka Monastery at Calgary has been postponed for years due to all kinds of challenges. The roof can't be built until the Buddha Hall which is located at the top floor is completed. The server winters in Alberta make this situation even more challenging than it already is.
Sangha and community members of the monastery resolved to take on the project of building 10,000 Buddha images and dedicate the merit to the completion of the new Buddha Hall.
I first encountered this project in a visit to the Avatamsaka Monastery on a trip to Rocky Mountain. My mind was blown away by what i saw in the project's workshop. The dedication, focus, determination, and caring for the earth inspired me.
I told myself I had to make a video to tell the story so that more people will come to know of this meaningful project.
So here it is.
The intend of this video is to show the process of making the Buddha images, as well as the intense dedication of the volunteers toward the project.
