This is a kind of video and photography experiment for me.
I wanted to find a way to convey the beauty and process of light painting, a photography technique, into a video form.
I also wanted to show how the subject is exposed in increments that would be similar to the exposure of film in a traditional film photography camera.
I didn't want to use effects or effect generators (AE or Motion) to do this and there for had to came up with a way to make the exposures combine themselves over time and not be overexposed in doing so.
The light painting photo in this video is actually a 150 photos layered over each other to reveal the finish photograph when the final photo layer is shown.
No grading or effects were used to make the photo or the video.
Video all shot handheld with 5D Mark II.
Thanks to the people who spent their time to help me make this.
