BOLD. BRILLIANT. BINGHAMTON.
THE CAMPAIGN FOR BINGHAMTON UNIVERSITY
Paul Reiser '77 earned his bachelor of fine arts degree in music with a major in piano and composition at Binghamton before hitting the big time on the comedy circuit in New York City and moving in to acting.
Active in campus theater productions, Reiser founded "The Little Theater That Could", an on-campus community theater organization - now called Hinman Production Company.
Reiser made his feature film debut in Diner in 1982 and later had roles in Beverly Hills Cop, Aliens, Crazy People and Bye, Bye Love. In 1992, he began his most famous role to date as Paul Buchman in the award-winning NBC series Mad About You. A co-creator of the series, Reiser also served as executive producer and writer, and co-wrote the show's theme song.
An accomplished pianist, he has been invited to perform at university campuses and with philharmonic orchestras. He is also the author of two bestsellers, Couplehood (1994) and babyhood (1997). In 1996, Reiser established the Samuel Reiser Scholarship at Binghamton University in honor of his father.
As we continue with the campaign for Binghamton we take a look back at the Believe in Binghamton campaign.
