Due to foreseeable & unforeseeable circumstances, the Aug. 12 Composting in the City workshop at Moreno Farms, Minneapolis, was cut short and remained, frankly, incomplete. Presenter Reed Aubin recorded a 16-minute video two days later, walking viewers through the process of building a "hot" compost pile, that is, a pile which will reach 140 degrees F and kill weed seeds, rhizomes and pathogens. Here is the video, to be followed by photographs and possibly more video, as this compost pile matures. At press time it had reached a steady 140, five days later. More photos, tips, and resources will follow at understory.org/composting-moreno-farms.
