"Anomaly" is the first recording in almost ten years for legendary drummer Lenny White. His latest Abstract Logix Records CD features guitarist Jimmy Herring from the rock group Widespread Panic.
Throughout his career, Lenny has record and played on some of the most prolific jazz, rock, and soul recordings for well over 40 years. From the legendary Miles Davis "Bitches Brew" to Freddie Hubbard's "Red Clay" to Jaco Pastorius' debut "Jaco Pastorius,"he's been on the cutting edge of all genres of music. He's backed greats like Stan Getz, Joe Henderson, Woody Shaw, and Gil Evans.
In 1972 he became one of the members of the one most influential jazz groups of all time. Return To Forever featured keyboardist Chick Corea, bassist Stanley Clarke, and guitarist Al Di Meola. The group was important to fusion jazz like their contemporaries Weather Report and Tony Williams Lifetime in blending rock, jazz, world, and other musical genres to the mix.
