This sound recording was made on the "Big Day" of October 8, 2015, when I was a one-man documentarian of the successful effort to identify more species of birds in 24 hours than ever before. My companions Dusan Brinkhuizen, Rudy Gelis, Tuomas Seimola, and Mitch Lysinger identified 431 species that day -- besting the existing world's record by 77 species. This recording was made on an island in the middle of the Napo River, a major tributary of the Amazon the flows out of the Andes Mountains.
