Growing up in Dominican Republic and in New York I was exposed to a lot of things that most people would call socially
unacceptable or taboo, one of those things being Santeria. Santeria is a syncretic religion of West African and Caribbean origin influenced by
Roman Catholic Christianity. I document these events from my past as a technique of self-representation that is not of fixed form, but in
constant flux. My past and present experiences are transformed from ephemeral memory into a finite physical form through art.
