A short series of clips filmed at Brooks Falls, Alaska, showing bears fishing in the annual salmon run. The clips were filmed on July 26 2010.

I filmed with three cameras: a Canon EOS 7D equipped with EF-S 15-85mm and EF 100-400mm lenses, a Canon HV30 camcorder and a Canon IXUS 200 IS / SD980 IS compact. I used the 7D primarily for stills, but shot video with it inbetween.

The camcorder was used for backup video, and also to capture a wide view of the entre falls while I took stills with the DSLR. The DSLR was mounted on a tripod and the camcorder handheld or balanced on a ledge.

I've included several similar clips filmed with the DSLR and camcorder here for comparison.
