Hato Project’s spin off performance entitled, Memo-ry-cycle 1.
For the first performance in our “Memo-ry-cycle” series, Hato Project’s director and choreographer Heidi Vierthaler, together with dancers Luca Cacitti and Shay Partush, will display how one medium can influence the other. The process has been very special, thanks to the generous support from Droog design, one of the most innovative design companies in the world today.
The performers will integrate Vierthaler’s stream-flow movement method together with the iconic Droog Rag Chairs, from designer Tejo Remy. We’ve been so inspired by shifting design, fashion and architecture into our world of dance.
The original duet, ‘My brother’s room’ created for the filming in Hôtel Droog’s unique interior, has completely morphed into a new piece, since we’ve introduced Remy’s Rag chairs into the mix!. It’s been a sort of ‘beautiful interruption”, which challenges and enhances our ideas, creating an entirely new atmosphere.
Inspired by the image of a young man imprinted on the floral mural in Hôtel Droog’s library, Hato’s two male performers will deliver a humorous take on the best way to preserve the memory of a loved one. Composer Tom Van Wee has created our beautiful new soundscape.
This inspiring new collaborations whilst touching a broader audience. Please stay tuned for our upcoming full evening event at Hotel Droog. heidivierthaler.com
