Suffrage Wagon Cafe's special program on "10 Days in a Madhouse" featured investigative reporter Nellie Bly and the true story of her undercover work at Blackwell's Island before the turn of the 20th century. Bly carved a path in journalism that opened up writing jobs for women, many of whom went on to write about the women's suffrage movement, including Edna Buckman Kearns and many others. Nellie Bly covered the suffrage movement, including an amazing interview with Susan B. Anthony. And she was on the scene to cover the 1913 big suffrage parade in Washington, DC.
