Synopsis
Alfredo is married and has two children. He was born in a mountain village of the Italian part of Switzerland, today a favourite place for weekend visits for tow people.
Alfredo seems to lead a quiet life, the life of so many Ticinese families born in the valleys who go back now to their native village only for the weekend. But for Alfredo the weekend in his native village – his wife and his children don’t accept it with great enthusiasm – is no longer an escapism but an obsessional rite which is repeated on and on.
Alfredo has lost his own identity. He does not succeed in finding a balance between his childhood lived in a country world that no longer exist and his maturity marked by a job and daylife with no satisfaction.
