Shot the video of my son with my HV30 while we were in Budapest Hungary. I wrote the score too using GarageBand, the first I've done, and put it all together.
The title Magyar (Hungarian) Dream comes from the post travel experience I've had, sort of 'jet laggy' I'm not certain how to describe it other than a dream like state reflection of the trip. Within that, the metaphor of attention, experience, and new music comes to my mind - a bit Jungian. I've noticed in a few other video's having this sort of dream like composition and find it fascinating to observe. I suppose my background in psychiatric rehabilitation contributes to some of what I've experienced and have observed in others, none the less there is some wonderful expression on Vimeo.
From a technical perspective I've got something not set right, the video looks as if I've not deinterlaced (and I have) and the HD doesn't look as HD in certain clips on Vimeo as it does when I play it on my iMac. I know the scene where my son is inside Kelenfold train station is grainy because it was a bright day and I was shooting outside and forgot to drop my shutter speed down from about 1000. I have no clue why the last scene with a close up of my son is so bad in the compressed version. Any thoughts on settings for iMovie or as I'm just starting to work with FCE, other ways to clean things up, I'd be grateful.
