Dust (Arizona Road Dust) dynamics are used for calibrating particle instruments, correlating health effects in exposure studies, as well as challenging different types of filters.
During this webinar, we will explore the non-intrusive shadowgraph imaging technique for measuring dust dynamics. It is an excellent approach in determining dust dynamics, providing the simultaneous result of sizing velocity, as well as concentration of the dust particles in a plane. Since the system is based on the measurement of the “shadow” of the dust particles—with laser illumination in the forward scatter direction—the size of the shadow is measured directly without any assumed pre-conceived shape of the dust particles. The concentration is estimated based on the inspection area size and the number of dust particles detected. The system allows measurements over a period of time, giving the result of particle concentration and flux information.
