The Midwest Youth Climate Convergence was held at the Minneapolis American Indian Center, October 30-November 1, 2015. The Convergence brought together committed youth organizers across the region leading on campus and municipal fossil fuel divestment campaigns, and the campaign to stop Midwest tar sands pipeline expansion – with the goal of building capacity for existing youth campaigns, developing a deeper strategy for re-investment in just and sustainable solutions, and creating a stronger Midwest youth climate movement.
Climate Generation: A Will Steger Legacy, convened key youth organizers in the belief that we cannot create the innovative breakthroughs we need without a systemic and coordinated approach to grassroots organizing. We believe that youth bring the creative genius, the collaborative spirit, and the courage we need to secure a just and sustainable future for all.
