Professor Mark Blum of UC Berkeley has translated Vol 1-10 of 40 of the Mahaparinirvana-sutra from Dharmaksema’s 5th century Chinese version. It is the first translation into English of this key sutra for the exposition of “Buddha Nature” - tathagatagarbha.
Prof. Blum is doing a great service by working to make this translation available in a lively and expressive translation. The KF Prize for Outstanding Translation rewards Prof. Blum for hard work well done, and encourages him to carry on, and finish the next 3 volumes!
