A large pool of small sting rays sits to the left of the aquarium entrance just before the GA reef exhibit. Families line the edges and watch as the rays glide as if in flight. A young woman is equipped with a silver pail of chum, chopped fish for the feeding. She steps over the rock wall and steps in. Her feet are covered in rubber boots and she has waiters up to her chest held up by suspenders. Carefully, she lowers herself into the water. She is conscious of the rays, gentle as pups, jumping around her, trying to suck on her clothing. They have no teeth. Kneeling, she reaches into the pail and grabs a fistful of chum. They don't bits she assures the children, and their stinger has been removed.
