Each year thousands of worshipers gather around the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Bangkok to celebrate the Hindu Navaratri Festival which is dedicated to the deity Durga. It is striking to see the mostly Buddhist Thais make this festival their own, with Issan music and other distinctly Thai touches. Most notable to me were the entranced and screaming devotees that could be seen everywhere.
