In this lecture we considered some of the 'solutions' to the collective action problem, how they are embedded in the historic texts of political philosophy and political economy. We also began to look at some of the experimental evidence for preferences that people have - both self-regarding (self-interested) and other-regarding - in the Ultimatum game.
