Constructed in 1935 under Joseph Stalin, it was one of USSR’s most ambitious architectural projects.
Artists and architects worked to create a “Palace for the People”.
Each station was unique with revolutionary and historical themes. The proletariat such as workers, farmers and soldiers were glorified in statue and art.
