KOM DE BAGFRA VHS - FABER MUNDI 1995(2)
The performance revolved around thoughts about the renaissance... death, aesthetics, music, science... and more. The first 15 minutes of the performance was one long build up to ecstatic, flashy, loud and BIG. Then in one hard break, bright white static light fills the space. A beautiful Venus figure(Botticelli style) is left hanging in the air.. The music stops and a man - Per Flink Basse (the great) - sitting in the audience gets up, walks onto the stage, picks up papers left on the floor by the Wild Man/Scientist/Diabolical surgeon - Karena Nomi -. Per starts to read a text by Jeppe Brixvold "Min smukke elskede / My beautiful beloved"
Between 1986 and 1998 the group KOM DE BAGFRA produced a large number of performances / installations.
Most of the video documentation of the work of KOM DE BAGFRA, exist only on old VHS tapes. I have decided to collect some of the KDB – VHS moments using the camera on my telephone. Andreas Haaning Christiansen set up a VHS player and a video monitor for me in the workshop, thank you Andreas. See more about Peter Holmgård and KOM DE BAGFRA here peterholmgaard.dk
