Thanks to Kirsten Krans and support from Random Collision & Dansmakers, we were able to spend a week in the stuio and work with some fantastic dancers to devlope and play with our collabotive work LEROY.
LEROY is an artistic reflection and conversation about mass psychogenic illness. It engages with the fragility and power of our minds, empathy, group influence and psychological contagion. It is inspired by an incident which took place in Le Roy, New York in 2012. A group of girls, exhibited signs of a mysterious illness, presenting as Tourette's syndrome: twitching, stuttering, panic; eventually diagnosed as an event of ‘Mass Hysteria'. Our collaboration is a project that examines compulsive group behavior, contagious psychosomatic conditions and how these can lead people into unrelenting cyclical movements, trapping them inside their bodies and patterns.
final stage production coming soon... ish.
