Demonstration of a 'winding wheel' model set up for the Novint Falcon device. You can feel the falcon lock into the two wheels, and movement is then much easier within the radius of the particular wheel. as the wheel is wound, the momentum can be felt, so as you stop your hand you can feel the force trying to drag your hand round in a circle still.
The force is consistent enough for you to remove your hand and have the controller keep moving.
There is a quick example at the end that maps the wheel speeds to the playback rate of two drumloops. As with the other demos, this is just a quick example mapping, and I will expand it in the future.
The project was undertaken at STEIM in Amsterdam
