Canlyniad astudiaeth o effaith golau yw Cipio Eiliadau. Mae’n edrych ar y ffordd y bydd golau’n pasio drwy wydr ac yn creu cysgod. Wrth iddo basio drwy wydr, gall golau newid cyfeiriad, gall ei loywder ddwysau, gall feddalu ac ymledu, ac mae’n taenu cysgodion. Yn dibynnu ar gyfeiriad y golau
a gwahanol briodweddau’r gwydr, bydd y cysgodion a daenir yn symud ac yn newid eu siâp.
Mae’r darnau yn yr arddangosfa hon wedi’u dylunio’n fanwl i gipio’r golau a’r cysgodion i ni eu gweld. Yn hytrach na’n bod ni’n methu effaith darfodedig fel golau haul yn treiddio drwy gwmwl ac yn taenu cysgod diflanedig wrth i ni gerdded heibio, yma fe ddelir y cysgodion, cawn
gyfle i aros i fyfyrio arnyn nhw.
What is it about?
Captured Moments is the outcome of a study of the effect of light. It looks at how light passes through glass and creates shadow. As it passes through glass, light can change direction, its brightness can intensify, it can soften and spread out, and it casts shadows. Depending on the direction from which the light is coming and the various qualities of the glass, the shadows that are cast move position and change shape.
The pieces in this exhibition are meticulously designed to capture the light and shadows for us to view. Rather than us miss a transient effect such as sunlight piercing a cloud and casting a fleeting shadow as we walk by; here, the shadows are caught, we have a chance to dwell on them.
