Michael J. DeMarco ’87, President and COO, Mack-Cali Realty Corporation and Stephen J. Livaditis, Senior Managing Director, Eastdil Secured, LLC.
Mr. DeMarco is a veteran real estate investment professional with more than 30 years of industry experience.
Prior to joining Mack-Cali, Mr. DeMarco was most recently the chief investment officer of CCRE, a non-bank finance company and one of the largest originators of CMBS (Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities). Mr. DeMarco was also an executive vice president with Vernado Realty Trust and a partner at Fortress Investment, overseeing a number of real estate operating companies that Fortress acquired. Additionally, he was a senior managing director with Lehman Brothers in the company’s real estate investment banking unit specializing in mergers and acquisitions, structured finance, and initial public offerings.
Mr. DeMarco graduated from the University of Chicago with an MBA in Finance, as well as Pace University with BBA in Accounting and a minor in History. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Mr. Livaditis also served on Eastdil Secured, LLC Board of Directors as well as on the Management Committee and co-heads the firm's national retail practice. He has worked on the recent $1.6 billion joint venture between WP Glimcher and O’Connor Capital Partners in 2015. He has been involved in the portfolio sale of six malls on behalf of national real estate investment trust, Macerich (MAC).
During his 25 years of real estate investment banking experience Mr. Livaditis has been involved in a number of the most significant trophy commercial transactions in Chicago (Willis Tower, 311 South Wacker, 161 North Clark, Three First National Plaza, Hyatt Center, UBS Tower at One North Wacker and represented Oprah Winfrey in the sale of her Harpo Studios site.)
His additional retail experience includes the sale of the Grand Canal Shoppes at Venetian (Las Vegas, NV), Green Acres Mall (Valley Stream, NY), Houston Galleria (Houston, TX), Kings Plaza Shopping Center (Brooklyn, NY), Streets of Woodfield (Schaumburg, IL), Water Tower Place (Chicago, IL) and Woodfield Mall (Schaumburg, IL).
