The United States incarcerates more of its citizens than any other country on Earth. Often those who fill our jails and prisons come from families where there is a sad multigenerational history of drug and alcohol abuse, mental illness, domestic violence, criminal behavior and a host of related social ills. This short film explores the underlying issues and how, by helping entire families address the issues that plague them, one social program is addressing recidivism by juvenile offenders and seeking answers about how to break the multi-generational "school to prison" cycle .
Tatoosh Media is currently in preproduction for a feature length film that will examine this pressing social problem in much greater depth by documenting the lives and experiences of families around the country as they struggle to break out of the incarceration vortex.
