In this week’s teaching, Dr. Don G. Pickney shares more about the 3rd type of the God Kind of Faith – Faith to Do the Impossible (the working of miracles).
The most significant message throughout the evening was to demonstrate how EASY it is to do the working of miracles. Before the teaching’s end, you will be convinced that you too will be able to experience God’s hand through you for “the working of miracles.”
Of course, he reminds us that all faith has the spiritual characteristic of (1) believing (or trusting in God – in his faithfulness to His word, His love and grace, and His sovereign purposes), (2) speaking “words of faith” (on a personal level we confess what God’s Word says, and we speak to our circumstances what we desire of them), and (3) we then are required to believe what we say will come to pass.
So, if “faith to grow” by in our life plan or assignment comes from faith “dealt to us” at the time of the new birth, and if “faith to live by” comes from our hearing and receiving the promises of the Word of God, then where does “faith to do the impossible” (the working of miracles) come from? As the teaching continues this week and next, Pastor Do demonstrates that this type of faith comes from “a manifestation of the gift of the Spirit called, “the gift of the working of miracles.
1Corinthians 12:7-10 KJV “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. (8) For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; (9) To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; (10) To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues.”
We see in the scripture the real purpose of the Working of Miracles. The gift of the Working of Miracles is quite different that “healing miracles.” In healings (supernatural healing) the target for the miracle is the hurting person and bringing relief from their suffering. Pastor Don says, “Every healing whether natural, supernatural or in the character of a miracle, is God’s love being poured out upon someone. Jesus paid for this on the cross by the wounds he suffered. But the Working of Miracles is different. It has as its target not the person(s) receiving the effect of the miracles, rather a greater target:
Joshua 4:23-24 MSG "Yes, GOD, your God, dried up the Jordan's waters for you until you had crossed, just as GOD, your God, did at the Red Sea, which had dried up before us until we had crossed. (24) This was so that everybody on earth would recognize how strong GOD's rescuing hand is and so that you would hold GOD in solemn reverence always."
