The Epping Forest Act of 1878 empowered the Corporation of London to administer the forest on behalf of the people and to keep it unenclosed for all time. Our intention with this film is to explain how this came about, in the context of the forest's history.
There has always been pressure to enclose and even since the film was made, in 1993, the pressure has continued. Epping Forest is London's green lung and its preservation is essential, more so since the coming of global warming.
