The other half is a short film portraying a future home with less space for food waste. It features Lyssna, a fictitious product that could live in your future home.
Lyssna is like a little hearing aid for your fridge. It rotates every once in awhile to get your attention. When you move it across your fridge, you hear the sounds of the food that is in there. Every food item has a unique sound, sort of like a barcode. This sound morphs over time corresponding to the state of the food. You can explore the contents of your fridge, get inspired, make combinations and make your own symphony of tastes.
What lyssna is trying to explore is, when in smart homes fridges would be able to tell us what is in it, how would we want that to happen? Lyssna very subtly surprises you every now and then, and it might come at exactly the right time. And next to that, it adds this layer of playfulness that will get you in the mindset to experiment with your food.
