*There is NO SOUND at the beginning of the video, this is normal.
*Panasonic AG7200 (AG-LA7200) Anamorphic adapter (mounted on 35mm Flektogon f2.4 lens, m42 mount)
*Lomo Anamorphic Zoom, Foton 37-140mm f3.5 lens PL mount
Shot on the Canon 7d. The Lomo lens was collimated and 15mm rod support bracket was added by Duclos lenses. The rear PL mount was also shaved within tolerance to mount on an eos DSLR without having to modify the camera. The PL to EOS mount adapter is by ciecio7.
This is NOT a scientific or very tightly controlled comparison. Tripod placement and daylight changed throughout the testing. A few of the shots in the video are misfocused and not wholly indicative of the potential sharpness for each lens. The overall point was to simply show the different characteristics between the lenses.
The footage was shot at 24p, then converted and unstreched in MPEG Streamclip to Prores 4444 at 1920x810. Footage was then output out of FCP at 1280x720 h.264.
Footage is straight out of camera and uncorrected, except for de-stretch.
Having tested the Lomo and Panasonic on both the 5d and the 7d the results from the 5d are sharper than the 7d. For footage of the lomo on the 5d please see these links:
For more anamorphic footage check out some of my other videos. Thanks!
