At Burning Man 2014: Caravansary I experienced an incredibly powerful moment -- after the burn a few of us sat in a circle on the Playa and shared the most difficult things that had happened in our lives. As we did so I felt my pain release into the native American Indian sacred land and disappear. I still feel that moment to this day.
Being a filmmaker, I then thought, how can I capture the feeling of that release in a movie and share that with everyone else?
And then I went and did just that. So... welcome... finally to the release of "Burning Man :: Release!" I created the movie as a kind of 15 minute consciousness raising meditation and it even begins with a meditation bell to get you in the right frame of mind...

*** Disclaimer: Sensitivity to participants ***
Putting together a project like Burning Man :: Release! is a fierce undertaking. It could go wrong at any stage. If someone doesn’t like the way their nose wriggles in a shot, it can collapse an entire sequence. But sometimes you just have to go for it… because when it works… it’s a great collaborative effort!
I’ve done my best to be sensitive to people and places and used my best judgment to not allow anything in which could harm anyone in the outside world. Please can I also ask use to use your best judgment before asking for any changes to be made. If I cater to one I have to cater for all which could ruin the integrity of the piece.

I believe this use of the copyrighted material qualifies as fair use under 17 USC § 107 because this is a non-commercial video for Burning Man and is not meant to be a substitute for the original music tracks or allow them to be passed off as my own material. All music credits have been given at the end of the film.
