Located in the southern part of Dallas County, the Sharrock Niblo cabin is one of the oldest remaining log cabin structures in Dallas County. From start to finish, film maker Mark Birnbaum documented the project, and has prepared this film about the work to restore and preserve the cabin.
Utilizing period tools and methods, the restoration was done in accordance with the Department of Interior’s preservation standards. Ron Siebler served as the lead preservation carpenter. Phoenix 1 Restoration & Construction is the General Contractor. Marcel Quimby with quimbymccoy.com is the Preservation Architect. The restoration is a project of the City of Dallas, under the auspices of the Park and Recreation Department.
