A travelogue-like array of little solo dances, revealing new forays into the curious smaller and more intimate moving I have been cultivating and refining as of late. The melding of gesture and non-literal dancing sang its own song as it unfurled, emanating from synapses responsive to the intricate play of time, space, and feeling. Along the way, specific motifs were encountered, and inhabited. I also experimented here with a different method of conveying occasional titles, and with using the simple progression between placards as a through-line instead of the more pointed connective underpinning at times employed in the past.
Pieces like this are periodic opportunities to illuminate points in a long and ongoing process, to share some of what has emerged from the movement investigations intriguing me at a particular moment in the evolution of my dancing. It also allows me to re-approach tuning the balance between that dancing and a shifting relationship with the audience, and between the dancing and a larger sense of connection into/within the world around us.
