While in Chicago last weekend, my friend Cindy and I met up with my Mom (who had flown out to see me/the choir) at Shedd Aquarium. We had a fun, if not rushed, experience, but most of what I filmed was either too dark or just really hard to watch (i.e. motion sickness to the max). I tried to put together some of the better clips.
One thing that I really like doing is watching these clips and not listening to what I'm or the people I'm with are saying, but listening to what others around me are saying. It's interesting that, at the time, you don't notice all of the other, sometimes very loud, noises and voices that are all around you (oh...selective attention...how I love thee!). But the camera picks it all up, and then you can listen to whatever you what when watching the video. Parents are just so darn cute sometimes (as are their children).
Oh, and, as a disclaimer, the loss of Steve Erwin was truly a tragedy. My giggle at my mother's reference is in response to her comment of "Hey, isn't that what killed that guy in Australia...you know, the crocodile guy? What was his name? Steve something?" Because my mom is definitely not someone who stays up-to-date with what's going on in popular culture.
