It’s no surprise that rooftops across the country have become such popular spots. In recent years we’ve seen a sudden surge in the popularity of rooftop bars and pools in major metropolitan areas around the country. The breathtaking views alone are usually enough to set them apart from their ground-level competitors. What’s relatively new however (at least in the U.S.) is rooftop soccer, and in Miami, it’s doing brisk business.
Run by Teofilo “Coco” Cubillas, the son of legendary World Cup star Teofilo Cubillas, Brickell Soccer Rooftop is a Miami gem. The rooftop at 44 Brickell offers spectacular views of the Miami skyline along with two standard indoor sized futbol pitches (56‘x110), a comfortable indoor lounge, and an outdoor patio that separates both fields. Each pitch is equipped with netting and ample padding for safety. Brickell Soccer Rooftop is home to league play, corporate events and birthday parties.
We stopped by the other day to chat with Coco Cubillas and learn more about rooftop soccer.
