Another Way is a PSIA Certified Ski School. Diane Bode, the founder and Executive Director of Another Way, created the developmental model for children’s skiing used in ski resorts throughout the United States and Internationally. The model was presented in Child-Centered Skiing: The American Teaching System for Children, published by the Professional Ski Instructors of America in 1988, and Skiing is for Kids (and those who believe in magic). Children learn basic skiing skill development at Another Way and do transition lessons at local ski areas.
Skiing appears to be a total learning experience enhancing learning in all other endeavors because of the awareness, sensitivity and skill base it develops in the child. When learning from one’s own body system, in direct relationship with the natural environment, a very special joy is experienced.
The prepared ski environment at Another Way is the model instructional environment presented in Child-Centered Skiing. Children use Skiing is for Kids as their skiing manual to support their on-slope experiences.
