Had a chance to try the kubideh sandwich, an Iranian standard, at the Conflict Kitchen in the East Liberty neighborhood of Pittsburgh.
Sam and Ben worked the kitchen and managed to talk for a bit even while managing a mini lunch rush. Ben was busy for a few minutes, so started off talking to Usama, a medical student at Pitt.
These are the last few weeks of the kubideh offering. Sometime in October the Kitchen switches over to Afghan cuisine. Down the road, possibly, is Korean, in recognition of what we might call the North Korean question.
Jon Rubin, one of the organizers of this enterprise, makes a cameo delivering coffee.
