Commissioned by the Royal Society of Chemistry, nanotoxicologist Vicki Stone does research into nanoparticles and how they affect the body. There are a huge variety of toxicology jobs and Vicki helps industry identify particles and substances that can affect human health or cause disease.
She works at the Herriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, loves her job and is passionate about the research she does in helping scientists and companies find out more about the science behind nanotechnology. There is a nationwide shortage of toxicologists and she encourages anyone interested in developing their career to investigate toxicology as an exciting and rewarding field.
