This video marks Green Unit's first installation of the arc at the Oxford University Botanical Garden's Harcourt Arboretum. It creates a beautiful greeting environment for the Harcourt Arboretum visitors whilst also providing a very comfortable and practical office for site staff. Due to the building's unique curved structure it feels remarkably spacious notwithstanding its small foundation footprint.
The building is highly sustainable - manufactured almost entirely from timber it has a green sedum living roof and a mechanical ventilation and heat recovery system which draws warmed air in from an underground geo-thermal pipe network. The building's triple glazing and high levels of insulation ensure that the underfloor heating requirement is minimised.
