PRISMATIC_NYC is a kinetic sculpture . It adapts real-time data into a physical visualization, bringing the fluctuations and flow of the outside world, inside.
A private sculpture that lives over the High Line Park in New York City.
An interactive art installation above New York’s High Line Park. The luminous-kinetic sculpture is comprised of 66 oscillating prisms that house over 40,000 individual LED’s. Each prism rotates and changes color in response to current weather conditions. Cloud cover, wind speed, humidity, and accumulation or intensity of precipitation, directly affect the amplitude, frequency, speed, and position of the generated and animated wave form that dictates the sculpture's movement.
