Arts Initiative. Singer-Songwriter Kelley McRae stopped by with guitarist Matt Castelein to perform a poignant song on a small boat in Cattail Pond before Grace Farms was open to the public. McRae’s voice and folk styling presage the permanent sound installation, New Canaan, by contemporary artist Susan Philipsz, which now occupies that same body of water on our 80-acre grounds.
This video is part of a compelling series that offers a glimpse into how artists warmed up the space at Grace Farms while construction was underway in 2014. This collaborative event set the stage for the Foundation's unique approach to interdisciplinary arts programming.
