It is the 17th century BC and the ancient Minoan island of Thera is prospering. Agriculture and fishing is abundant, culture and science flourish and the people live in peace and harmony. But with the prosperity follows pride. The people venture to challenge the Gods and the punishment of the Gods is devastating. Volcanic eruptions and earthquakes, floods and storms, fall upon Thera and the island is slowly swallowed by the sea. The society breaks down and it is every man for himself in a desperate struggle for survival.
Apokalypsis takes the players back to the Ancient Greece. As the wrath of the Gods fall upon you, you must interpret the omens and foresee which parts of the island that will remain safe and which parts that are doomed.
You do this by drawing an omen card at the beginning of your turn. The sum of all players’ omen cards tell which tiles that will remain land and which tiles that will turn into sea.
Move your people to safety, build bridges to span rifts and push away other people if necessary. In the end, there will be only one survivor.
